Oil Temperature Indicator Series 34

The Oil Temperature Indicator Series 34 measures the top-oil temperature.
It is a standard accessory for cooling, control and protection on all transformers.

Wind Temperature Indicator Series 35

The life of the transformer depends on the winding temperature. The winding temperature determines the rate of deterioration of the insulating material. Due to the high electric potential of the winding, it is not practical to measure the winding temperature directly. By making a "Thermal Image" of the winding, WTI-Series 35, simulates the winding temperature. The WTI is designed with a heating element connected to the current transformer. For safe overloading of a transformer, WTI is a necessary protection device.

Both products are designed for Power transformers. They are specially constructed for long life, heavy duty and maintaining free control of both the oil temperature (OTI) and the winding temperature respectively. They are made for outdoor mounting directly on the transformer in any climate, tropical as well as arctic environments. All parts are made of non-corrosive or surface-treated material. A robust measuring system secures the safe and accurate operation of the high capacity contacts. Besides the basic models, there are many accessories available. For example:

  • Transmitter for remote indication.
  • Earthquake-proof execution.
  • Extreme climate execution.
  • Protective class IP 55 or 65 acc. to DIN or IEC.

Temperature Indicator 6" 104-400 Series

104-400 Series 6" Remote Mounting Thermometers With Analog Outputs are designed for use on medium and large transformers where all the features of the standard 104 series thermometer are required. In addition, the 104-250 series thermometers offer a 0-1 or 4-20 milliamp output that is proportional to the temperature being measured by the sensing bulb. The analog output is typically used in conjuction with SCADA systems or other recording or control devices.

Temperature Control Unit MB103

The Temperature Control Unit was developed for the use in air-insulated electric transformers, also commonly known as resin or dry type. It is also easily adapts for the use in oil transformer. MB 103 units use PT 100 temperature probes for constant monitoring of transformer temperatures at 4 points: 3 on the transformer winding columns + 1 on the machine's magnetic circuit. If the transformer malfunctions, causing its temperature to rise, the MB 103 unit generates an electric alarm signal. If the temperature reaches danger levels the unit generates a 2nd intervention level. This can be connected to a machine immobilizer that functions independently of alarms. A cooling system control program is also implemented in the unit.

Software is designed so that any temperature malfunction is recognized, stored and a simple and clear signal is generated so that the machine operator knows how to intervene.

Two temperature control alarm levels are provided:

  • To signal any probe breakdown
  • For control of cooling fan system

A simple and flexible program is used to set thresholds and determine functions to be enacted and is able to set alarm levels and control for all channels either independently or in groups.

It is divided into two sections:

  • A simplified section that includes the most common values and permits quick setting of parameters that are common for all channels
  • A complex section that is used to change all programming parameters.

A reset function is also installed, bringing all parameters back to defaults. The 19 LEDs plus the display enable MB 103 temperature control units to clearly signal and control all information on the temperature status of the equipment being protected.
